Our Favorite White (and Off-White) Paint Colors

We used Sherwin Williams Alabaster on the Walls & Trim of our Halsted Bay Project.

You’ve asked for it (some of you have even begged for it - you’re our people) and it’s finally here - our favorite white and off-white paints, tried and true and all in one place!

Ask any designer and they will tell you, white is the trickiest color to nail in any space. Too warm and the undertones will make a space read yellow on a sunny afternoon. Too cool and the space actually feels chilly and the opposite of cozy. We know there are hundred and thousands of decisions to be made with any home project so let us take some of the burden and help you narrow down to our go-to white (and white-ish) paints. With years of experience, testing, swatching and photographing spaces, we have narrowed down the white & off-white paints we keep coming back to over and over again and are so thrilled to be sharing it with you today.

Oho Design Tip:
Be sure to sample 2-3 white paints on different walls (especially walls that have more shade and walls that receive more light/direct sun!) and look at the paint at different times of day (morning, afternoon & after sunset is typically what we recommend) to ensure the color will look great in the space from day to night. Samplize is a great solution for the paint sample shortage & is a tool we utilize ourselves!
