Cotswold in Iowa

This project is a study in making a new home feel as though it has been rooted in its surroundings for generations. Our clients dreamed of a farmhouse just outside a charming Iowa town, surrounded by cornfields, pastures, and the slower rhythm of country life. While the home would be entirely new, they wanted it to carry the soul, permanence, and quiet beauty of an old English country house - one that couldn’t easily be placed in a particular decade or even century.

We leaned into our love of cozy, English-inspired interiors, layering time-honored millwork, natural materials, warm woods, collected color, and plenty of pattern throughout. Every detail was chosen with longevity in mind: finishes that will patina, materials that will soften with use, and rooms designed to become even better as family life unfolds within them.

The result is a deeply personal family home that feels collected rather than constructed - full of character from day one, yet equipped with all the function, craftsmanship, and bespoke details of a fully custom new build.
