
ASSOCIATE DESIGNER
(Minnesota-Based)
ABOUT THE POSITION:
OHO INTERIORS is seeking a creative, ambitious, collaborative Associate Interior Designer with previous residential design experience to join our growing team! This role is part-time (24 hrs/wk) with periodic evaluation of hours needs of the position & the hope to grow into a full-time position.
We are searching for a candidate who is a self-starter, highly organized, has a superb attention to detail, who can creatively problem-solve, and is eager to contribute to all facets of the design-process within a boutique studio environment. Possess ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and keep composure under stress. Be proactive when design challenges arise and take responsibility but understand that there is always a solution.
Responsibilities include: working closely with the Senior Designer & Principal Designer to anticipate needs and provide added value to projects and tasks, drafting technical drawings (including floor plans, elevations and custom furniture plans) in AutoCAD, sourcing materials, assisting in preparation for presentations, client + vendor meetings, surveying existing sites and creating drawings for contractors as needed, contributing to design concepts and helping with installations + styling.
Candidate must have strong communication skills – management and interpersonal – engaging with clients, vendors, showrooms, and a growing team. Ability to adapt and thrive in an everchanging business environment is crucial. Looking for a candidate excited to grow in their role within a boutique studio!
YOU ARE PERFECT FOR THIS POSITION IF YOU - - -
You have previously referred to AutoCAD as your work spouse.
You are proficient in Google Sheets & current technologies (Dropbox, Canva, Keynote, etc).
You have an interior design degree (not required, but a plus!).
You have proven experience in assisting in all aspects of full-service renovation and furnishing design projects - from conception to project completion.
You live by the phrase “design is in the details”.
You are hard-working and efficient and able to meet critical deadlines.
You are passionate about design and the granular details needed for a project's success.
You have great client relations and management skills.
You have 1-3 years experience in a residential design firm.
You have strong professional communication skills - both over the phone and written.
You have an attitude of taking independent initiative, exhibiting creative problem solving, eagerness to learn, while remaining dedicated to teamwork.
You are honest, trustworthy and scrupulous.

Pay & Location:
Pay Dependent on Experience. Oho’s Studio is located in the Warehouse District of Minneapolis. Site Visits will take place typically within 1 hour of the Twin Cities Metro but occasionally might involve travel. As much advance notice will be given as possible for any extended travel needs.
