ABOUT THE PROJECT

When a project description begins with a home originally built in 1880, we are immediately hooked.

This lakeside beauty had been through its fair share of renovation and revision with nearly 150 years in existence; the result of which was a house that felt compartmentalized and lacked the original charm that the walls would have held of that era. Our Design Direction for the home was one born from the desire to infuse a bit of history back into the house but do it in a way that honored our client’s love of the Updated Traditional aesthetic - traditional design mixed with clean lines and a dose of modern elements for the perfect blend of new meets old. You can see that theme in every room - from the starburst pantry doors to the custom plaster range hood to the plaid stair runner and gorgeous quartzite countertops. This house is a masterclass in blending new, fresh design elements with traditional design and one that both nods to the heritage of the home while giving a new life for a new generation of owners.
